Spotlight on Anika Schniewind: Development & Marketing Intern

General Social Sciences major, Anika Schniewind, recently completed her Development & Marketing internship with Taking Ownership PDX through the University of Oregon's PIE (Portland Intern Experience) program! Reflecting on her time with us, Anika shared, “My experience with Taking Ownership PDX has taught me the importance of community and the power of grassroots movements. I enjoyed building connections with the Taking Ownership PDX team and interacting directly with the community we serve. I was able to learn vital skills that I will bring with me into my future career, as well as learning the ins and outs of nonprofit work.”

Anika has been a valuable part of our team, and though her current internship has come to an end, she plans to return to work with us in late September or early October when she begins school again. We are grateful for her contributions and excited for her future endeavors in community-based nonprofits! We are also thrilled to welcome Amissi Omari, who will be interning with us and supporting our TikTok platform as we continue to grow and engage with our community in new ways.
