Taking Ownership's House Party 2026 Recap!
Our second annual House Party is a wrap! Our community fundraiser concert to raise money for our Emergent Needs program, which helps the homeowners we serve with urgent repairs to their homes.
This is our second large event at The Redd on Salmon, and it featured all the same elements that made it a success last year. The silent auction had awesome prizes and getaways. We brought back the kids area with face painting from Face to Face PDX, a bouncy house from PDX Jumpers, and Pop-A-Shot from Hoops Portland.
The resource center was full of organizations who provide important services to marginalized communities, and our BIPOC small business market included a variety of established local vendors selling their products to the community.
We had amazing food and dessert options with Stoopid Burger, Crispiest Meats, Whole Bowl, Sarah’s Tamales, and DB Desserts, as well as Blends by Swin serving delicious adult beverages all evening.
This year we added something new to the party and recruited The Small Wins Project to screen print T-shirts and bags on the spot for our attendees.
And of course we brought in top-tier bands to perform their incredible music live, with Tahirah Memory, Top Chefs Band from San Francisco, The Kinky Brothers, and Ural Thomas and the Pain keeping the energy high throughout the event. We also had the multitalented Juma Blaq spinning the hottest tracks all evening long.
Special thank you to our host and board president Emmanuel Williams, and all of the sponsors who invested in the House Party and made it happen again!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CAME OUT, AND WE’LL SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
