We’re excited to share that Taking Ownership PDX and founder Randal Wyatt were recently featured in the Portland Business Journal. The article "Group that preserves Black-owned homes becomes nonprofit" highlights a pivotal moment for Taking Ownership PDX as we officially obtained nonprofit status in January. The piece delves into our journey from a grassroots initiative in 2020 to a recognized nonprofit by 2023, showcasing our impactful work in helping over 100 households across the metro area with repairs and improvements, particularly in gentrified neighborhoods. Wyatt's dedication and the organization's growth are detailed, along with the challenges and aspirations for the future, including securing sustainable funding and expanding our reach.
