Rebuilding Trust and a Porch

This homeowner came to Taking Ownership PDX in a bit of a pickle. After saving up for a porch remodel, they paid a hefty deposit only to be ghosted by their contractor immediately after demolition. Months went by without a word from the contractor. Desperate to get this project completed, they reached out to Taking Ownership PDX. We were able to respond via our Community Impact Department to create a safe and sturdy entryway.

We also want to give a shout out to Mwas at Jenga Construction for this beautiful brand-new porch. Hear what this homeowner had to say about this project:

"We contacted Taking Ownership after the first contractor took our down payment and did nothing, then the second contractor did the same but only removed the old deck. We knew the type of work Taking Ownership does in the community so we contacted them to find a reputable contractor and they did and got the project completed. We are very pleased with the outcome and will recommend using them and donating to their cause."

If stories like this inspire you, consider volunteering with Taking Ownership PDX! Together, we can continue creating lasting impact, one home at a time. Visit our website to learn how you can get involved and make a difference.
